| Scratchbuilt Heinkel 115 in 1/48 - info request Hi everyone, Recently I had this idea of starting the above mentioned project. For now it is only a thought, however I have started gathering info and contemplating on how to approch the model construction. My initial thought is to "borrow" a set of wings from a He 111 and build the rest myself. I am also trying to figure out if I could also borrow the floats (or any other part for that matter) from another kit.. any thoughts??? Having recently finished my P-38 mk I conversion, sanding and filling is something that i expect to do a lot.... Does anyone have a set of plans I could use??? Thank you all very much in advance

| This is just an idea, but it might help. Matchbox used to do a 1/72nd scale kit of this A/C, which might be available from specialist outlets/collectors. If you can get one, and with the plans, you could possibly scale-up using the drawings and kit parts. Perhaps the floats could be carved from balsa, or use a balsa mould to heat-mould some from plastic sheet. obviously, the fuselage will be the hardest part, good luck! |

| I don't know if you know this or not but I'm pretty sure the Revell 1/72 kit of the 115 is proberly a rerelease of the matchbox kit I picked one up here in NZ a while back for $30 so I think that would be very roughly 10quid

| Yep, I think you're right Daniel. It will do the same job anyway. It's an aircraft that has always interested me and even though I don't normally do 1/72, I think I might try one. Thanks, didn't know it was re-released. |

| Thanks guys, I have also thought of getting the 1/72 kit, just haven't been able to find it yet.. Will give it a go when I visit the Scale modelworld in Telford in November.. Until then I will keep on looking for anything I can find. With regards to the floats I was thinking of finding any Japanese floatplane and convert its floats rather than building them from scratch.. I am not sure if there is such a plane with similar dimensions.. Well, in any case thanxs for the interest..

| Yup, good luck mate. Hope you enjoy Telford, and I think the Revell kit is available still. |
