OK very simple; d'you mean black 000 or green 0/255/0 areas on the color layer of the texture, or a real alpha-channel?
OK, sure I know Martin's site. He gave me tips for building CFS1 scenery some time ago. I grabbed the utilities.
Thanks

Any area painted either black 000 or Green 255 will be saved as an alpha if you save it as dxt1 with alpha - you can then export and modify the alpha by hand, and reload it. Check out the toolbar buttons on dxt-bmp, you'll understand how it works in a flash! Just change the editor from default Paint to Photoshop, and you're off. Very useful for creating damage textures, too!.

OK will need to check dxt-bmp; I'm used to DXT1, 3 or 5 on cars depending on the alpha channel type, so no problem with using .dds.
I've also seen the reflection map in the P47s materials; CFS3 materials are also something familiar to me, as they're usual Max materials. Good news
