AP stuff

I know there was talk some years ago about the FAA dividing up the Power plant license. Since the way it is now is very stupid. People that work on Jets have no reason to know a thing about a radial engine, nor does a person that works on a radial engine need to know a thing about a jet.
Having the licensing the way it is makes as much sense as a person that works on radios learn all about the engines or airframe. Is this ever going to be resolved?
