Country: | It seems a bit odd to make the comparison to the Jumo 211 (and not the DB 601) though. |

Hm, it seems this highly interesting article misses one (or several?) pages ... is there a chance that you might be able to complete it? It seems to be great stuff for sure! :-)

Country: | What's that about "The Ford Aero Engine" at the end of the injection carburetor article. I've never heard of it before, and it sounds very interesting. |

Thanks a lot! The second article suggests that the first article had created quite a stir ...
I'd say from a modern point of view, there is no doubt of the value of fuel injection, but it seems that this was not immediately obvious when the technology was new.

Country: | It seems Fords's V-1650 engine project was part of the USAAF's "Hyper engine" program, not too much info on it but there is a mention of it on wikipedia's hyper engine article: Hyper engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Quote: |
Ford also worked on their V-1650 (unrelated to the Packard or PT engine), based on the hyper principles, but this saw almost no interest.

Country: | Hi Charles,
>Is Merlin Carburator of course.
According to LEO Deutsch-Englisches Wörterbuch ...
carburetor also: carbureter, carburator (Amer.)
carburettor also: carburetter (Brit.)
The term seems to invite alternative spelling
