| Packard Merlin Maintenance - today for those that are interested.... The Eternal Merlin: What It Takes to Keep a P-51 Engine Turning It is interesting to note that some of the parts that are difficult to find are being manufactured by Jack Rousch of NASCAR's Jack Rousch Racing. Jack owns a P-51 or two. You will love the opening sound clip - at least if you don't pee sitting down. |

| I was lucky enough to attend the "Gathering of Legends" Mustang airshow in Columbus Ohio in 2007. As I walked through the gate, one was in the air. I had seen many on static display at airshows before, but never like this. Anyways as I walked through the gate, one was in the air. I had goose-bumps, the hair on my body felt like it was standing up. I think I wanted to cry. You could walk down the flight line,( some 70+ Mustangs and other warbirds including the P-38 Glacier Girl ) where a Mustang was just parked after flying. You could touch it, feel the heat from the engine. It was just so incredible. That sound clip brought those memories back. Very real. Thanks for posting this link!!!!!!! |
