Packard-Merlin V-1650-19

Towards the end of WW2, quite a few experimental versions of the Packard-Merlin engine were proposed. Some were built, others were just paper suggestions.
According to some references, at least two of the V-1650-19 version were manufactured and tested. The unique feature of this model was the incorporation of a variable-speed supercharger drive made by the Sundstrand Company.
Has anyone ever come across details of the design of this device?
Below is a cross-section of the standard Packard-Merlin supercharger drive used on the two-stage engines. It used a standard three-unit Farman-type drive for the low-ratio with little epicyclic gears clutched in when high-ratio was needed.
