Planes you wish were in IL-2

Hey, yeah, I'm new here, and I figured it'd be best to ease in to this forum on a topic I know something on (or at least think I know). So anyway, IL-2 1946 has a ton of great planes in it, but aren't there some you wish they had? This is my wish list.

Later variants of the F4U and F6F (such as night fighters and the Hellcats with 20mm cannons)
F7F Tigercat
F8F Bearcat
P-61 Black Widow
Spitfire Mk XIV (high & low back)
P-35

I'm sure there are others I'd like to see, but I forget.

Excellent, but is there a way I can keep the mod and the official game separate? I heard Hyper Lobby won't let you play with a modded game.

Not that I've tried it myself m8, but you can have 1 on your C: Drive and another within the normal Program Files

Some Servers do play the 'Modded' Version as well.

Well, that's handy. I'd like to see what those planes can do, especially the Bearcat and the Spitfire. I work on a Spitfire Mk XIV, and I've heard good things about it. At the same airport, Camarillo Airport, CA, we have a Bearcat, and I've seen good things from it, and the pilots love it. This is all apart of the Commemorative Air Force, btw.

For fire power and speed the Spit XIV & XVIII (almost 450 mph, 2 .50's, 20mm cannon, bombs, rockets) were almost unbeatable in a DF m8. The Spit I/V & IX were better turners, but the IX was getting a little dated by 1945.

The Spit 21/22/24 was faster still (almost 460mph) but couldn't turn on a dime let alone the skies

Instead of the crappy LaGG-3RD (which wasn't even a very serious consideration)

The Gu-VRD would have been much better and more interesting: Gu-VRD (and very cool looking)

Also the Su 9/11 (ca 1946). Su-9

Also the 302 would have been interesting, and unlike the BI-6, did not have aerodynamic problems. And thus would have had beter performance (restricted to low Mach limit on the BI, with dangerous tuck-under above ~730 km/h) and would have been more stable and maneuverable. (and looked better, was more maneuverable, and had better projected range and armament)

Russian Aviation Museum more info on the Russian designs

I also would have liked to see the He 280, with either 001, 003, or 006 engines, though it would be kind of odd in the "1946" plane set.

Whirlwind, Vampire, and Meteor (as well as other British planes) would have been interesting, but Il-2 hasn't dome much on the Western front (outside of user made add-on missions)

But I imagine in Storm War they'll add many many more. (possibly those three as well)

Though the new game won't be compatable with the previous instalations iirc.
But it looks like it's going to be excellent.

Meteor, that's the jet I was forgetting. I was also thinking the Flying Pancake. But ya know, for being IL-2 1946, besides a few planes, it doesn't have much of a 1946 feel to it.

You mean the lack of V-2's Wasserfalls other advanced weapons, and scenarios combining them?

Definitely the Lancaster. Whirlwind would have been nice. Actually, every plane would have been nice. I think I'd most appreciate the P-61.

I would love to have "old 666" modded, but the guys at AAA did not understand me

Old 666 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I want to do a campaign on this plane's extraordinary military career.

At the moment I have 318 planes to fly, so im not sure what plane to wish for, as Im sure I havent even flow half of them, but would love to have the De Havillent Hornet as this is my favourite plane EVER!!! Just look at is wonderful performance stats. de Havilland Hornet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
