    Diving and the I-16

I love the I-16. Not sure the draw for me, it's just one of the quirky little craft that I enjoy, like the PZL11. Anyway, the annoying thing is that because of the engine (lack of fuel injection I guess) when I push forward on the stick to perform a simple dive, the engine cuts out. It's frustrating when the enemy is below me and I feel like I can't dive. I have to do a barrel roll to lose a little altitude. How to you guys handle it?

Astaldo, we had a great discussion about the I-16 and other carbeurated aircraft in a thread here not too long ago...perhaps you'd like to check it out!

It covers alot of what you mentioned, plus some additional info you might find interesting!

Wow, that helped. My first mission out I accidentally dived on a lone 109 and the engine quit. I panicked and spun into the trees.

I purposely stalled the engine 3 times by diving and each time was able to restart using your instructions. Thanks!
