A small number of the pre-production H-0 and H-1s were produced, and were tested...
Actually they had a try, at first IJA wnat to operate J2M Raiden instead of the heavy fighter plan which under development. However, it didn't macth the requirment and too many problems.
When near the war end, IJN try it again. They got some Ki-84s and tested.
Thank you guys.I have received a mail about DB605 from mad_max. The document says there is a project which try to upgrade DB605A's power by C3 fuel and the prototype got 1550hp,but finally it was been canceled.:(
Someone tell me that Chinese pilots reported only light weight P40N-1 could dogfight with Japanese fighters and P40's acceleration was better than Ki-84 prototype which used by 22th sentai in China.
I am sure the DB605A in discussion hasn't MW50 or GM1. If they do have it,it should be DB605AM...etc and more power than 1550hp. Still thx a lot:D
In some flightsim game discussion,I saw the DB605A was described as below:
DB605A early →1.42ata 1355HP @ 100% / 1475HP @ 110%
DB605A late →1.42ata 1300HP @ 100% / 1550HP @ 110%
But I can't find any other resources or documents to prove it, is that true or false?
thx for reply:D
