Hamilton Standard 23E50 Dome Part Number

Sorry, brain fart in my last message. They're 6353A-18 blades reduced to -30s and reprofiled by San Antonio Propellers. I have the 61196-12 piston and have sourced a 52940 shaft extension tube. Should now just be a case of setting the stop rings to something appropriate for non-feathering and...

Hamilton Standard 23E50 Dome Part Number

Using 6565A-18 (DC-3 needle blades) cut down and re-profiled to -30 to match the rotol diameter of the spitfire. Same conversion as the Allison powered Yak9/3.

Hamilton Standard 23E50 Dome Part Number

The -505 I have has the faired knee cam. The -489 I am converting to has the standard cam track, but I can live with the faired knee. In reality, I am just installing the shaft extension assembly, removing the distributor valve and making the -505 non-feathering. This is going in a full-size...

Hamilton Standard 23E50 Dome Part Number

Hi all, Was wondering if anyone can identify which dash of 23E50 a 61196-12 dome might have been used with? I have cross-referenced as many Ham Standard manuals as I can find but the 61196-12 doesn't show up in the lists. The domes are available in inventory through parts suppliers so they...

    Allison V1710 E verses F type

Thanks Greg. Any thoughts on the original topic? Is it fairly doable to convert the E to an F? I see there are some minor changes to the oil scavenging system around the reduction gear, but other than that I can't see any show-stoppers. That being said I also can't find any literature that...

    Allison V1710 E verses F type

Hi all, wondering if we might have a couple of Allison engine specialists on the forum. I am looking at whether the V1710 'E' type engines can effectively be turned into an 'F' type engine by simply fitting the reduction gear from the F onto the E block. For those not familiar the E type was...

    Spitfire Fixed Tailwheel Strut

Hi all, I am having difficulty finding any technical drawings of the fixed tailwheel leg on the spitfire. Specifically I am after material spec and wall thickness of the leg, if anybody knows? Cheers D
