Recent events have brought to the fore a certain crash of A-20G-20 42-86768 "Barry's Baby," 3rd BG (L), 90th BS (L) on May 14, 1944 in the South West Pacific. The survivor T/Sgt Anthony Zulkus listed as "Engineer" survived. He claimed both engines quit at low altitude and the plane went in.

From photos, it appears that the main self-sealing fuel tank bladder in F4U Corsairs must had had issues.
Quite a few of them have white tape over the seams around the tank in front of the pilot. Were the panels hard to remove - or easily damaged, making them difficult to fit back properly...
Beautiful! This is my old build (Early 1990s) of the 1/48 Monogram Marauder. In 2019, I took it out of storage, fixed broken parts like the landing gear and made it look nice again. I used a lot of led weights to get it to sit properly and that affected the gear!
Question - Did USN yellow wing utility aircraft have wing chevrons? Did they have the colored cowls of three-plane sections ? I ask because I want my model of the Grumman Duck to be accurate. it is painted in the markings of I-J-23 VJ-1 1939 in Hawaii. the Curtiss Hawk is for comparison.
