    Lagg 3 91AP Black Sea Fleet 1944

So just looking at the 2 schemes from Rosen / Toro, the dark and light grey are reversed. My Dako kit instruction is like the first one above with the lighter nose section. Any thoughts on this?

Hey thanks Wojtek, I'm glad I checked, would've been pretty cranky finding out after painting! I like the grey scheme so even better!.

    Lagg 3 91AP Black Sea Fleet 1944

Hey guys, I'm working on a Dako 1/72 kit, The instructions say olive green / brown camouflage. However I found a profile of same aircraft (White 43) showing it in dark grey / light grey, and stating that as the standard 43-45 scheme. Which is correct? Below are the two. Cheers.

    Do335 A6 SN-2 Radar configuration

Well, kind of makes sense they would use the same layout as the Fw190. It's probably most likely option for historic accuracy..... Cool thanks

    Do335 A6 SN-2 Radar configuration

Hey Guys, I believe there was only one A-6 night fighter completed - V-10. I am trying to find out the correct layout of the SN-2 radar antennae on the wings. I can't find a photo of the aircraft so am looking at models. However there are a few variations (mainly on the port wing). These two...

    Japanese aircraft Hinomaru

Hey guys, When I first had a go at doing Japanese schemes I was concerned with weathering the decals to match the poor paint elsewhere. Now this proved very tricky without damaging the decals if sanding/chipping or if painting the weathering on the decal it often looked fake. I noticed many...

    Fiat G50 352 Squad 1941 propeller colour

Ok cool, so I've gone with a silver-(darkened more to a light gunmetal) front and black rear.... looks good.

    Fiat G50 352 Squad 1941 propeller colour

Yes I agree, which shows the propeller itself is not silver...much darker

    Fiat G50 352 Squad 1941 propeller colour

Hey guys, Trying to find out the correct colour of these propellers. I've made the usual mistake of following kit instructions and painted them black. A look online at some completed models I'm seeing lots of them silver and others black. On photos it's tricky, some even look like 'grey' or...

Yes that's another option...... good thinking.....

Ki44-II Shoki 47th Sentai (Sakamoto) wing guns

I like the previous scheme better with the yellow insignia........but I must admit, since I have no decals, the Hasegawa scheme will be much easier! ....... One thing sticks in my mind.... if they were intending to paint the tail all over red...why start painting around the insignia on the...

Ki44-II Shoki 47th Sentai (Sakamoto) wing guns

I actually like the above colour scheme with the tail colours matching the Drum emblem and nose cone. Since we can't really confirm the colours....why not?

Ki44-II Shoki 47th Sentai (Sakamoto) wing guns

The Luftwaffe also tried this with Sonderkommando Elbe on one occasion 7th April 1945 with somewhere between 180-200 aircraft. This B-17 was hit by one. Possibly up to 13 bombers were destroyed but over 50 Sonderkommando aircraft were downed. (claimed)

Ki44-II Shoki 47th Sentai (Sakamoto) wing guns

Hey Shinpachi, great find! well done.........so here is the famous photo of 32. The tail is definitely not all over red as per Hasegawa. As per the rudder.... I found this pic of what looks like a dark rudder on '16'...but I believe and the profiler believes it is 'shadow'.......I wonder if...

Ki44-II Shoki 47th Sentai (Sakamoto) wing guns

Now Olsthoorn's photo apparently has the ramming unit 'yamada' drum emblem on the fuselage........so it's the same aircraft, which brings us back to what the tail insignia was. Would like to find that photo............
