Apprenticed at Rolls-Royce Derby when there were still people who had worked for Henry Royce; designer on civil big fans, stress engineer on advanced projects; project stress engineer responsible for turbine blading; academic at Cranfield when CAD started up; went as training consultant in CAD/CAM companies, then ran a CAD company in a computererised machine company; process and technology manager for packaging in a global FMCG - 15 years of travel and fun in job; retired to dust off notes about aero-engines.
