The painting of the Yak getting chewed up by a P-38 was done by Tony Wedell. I don't know where the original wound up, but Roy Grinnell is the artist who painted dozens of pieces for the American Fighter Aces Association. That collection is now at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, and a number...
Talk about a bait and switch! The title of this thread is "P-61 alternatives," but the last 5+ pages are dedicated almost exclusively to the Me 264. Call me crazy, but I don't see the Me 264 as being a viable alternative to the P-61. ;)
Check out Mushroom Model Publications (mmpbooks.com) or the Top Drawings series from Kagero Publishing. They have books with three-views in various scales that show rivet detail. Between the two publishers they have books on at least the first three planes you mentioned.

Great stuff; thanks guys!

I visited the FHC on Saturday and asked about the 262. The guy I talked with said they had to send one of the engines back for some work. As is usually the case, no reason or timeline was given.
Hi everyone – I'm looking for any photos of either of the 262s referenced in the subject line. There are a number of profiles and models online, but i have yet to find a single photograph of either plane. My 262 library is not extensive, but I thought I would have been able to find something...
A very rare treat for those of us on the west coast this weekend: one of the world's two airworthy Mosquitos flew at the Abbottsford International Airshow. She's owned by Bob Jens and kept at Vancouver International Airport. It's first post-resto flight was just this June.
Given that so...
Thanks guys. Nuuumannn, this next shot is just for you. There's still a stupid fence in front of the 747, but at least you can see the entire plane now! :)
