US Military Intelligence report, 1942: He112 with DB601a

The drawing is a He-110. But I think it's a bit slow for a He-110. It also categorizes this one as a fighter, and the He-113 as an interceptor. So I guess somebody did get something wrong, because for me both things don't fit. Unfortunately I don't have anything on the He-112, I found this...

What can be found about the B-17 "Murder Inc".

If somebody writes "murder inc" on his plane then they apparently think it's fun to murder. Stop making excuses like "Oh, they just liked the movie". Imagine a German bomber with the inscription "Mörder GmbH" getting shot down during the Battle Of Britain. There is no difference here.

    Murder Inc.

Imagine during the Battle of Britain they would have shot down a German bomber with "Mörder GmbH" written on it. We'd never hear the end of it. Sorry, but I find it disgusting to put something like that on a bomber.

Production & development costs of German aircraft?

I am looking for the prices because I want to compare the effort it took to build an airplane. I found something, but it doesn't really make sense to me: So "Treibstoffkosten" = fuel cost. Kosten für 10 Flüge = cost for 10 flights. Kosten für 10 Flugstunden = cost for 10 flight hours. Benötigte...

US Military Intelligence report, 1942: He112 with DB601a

This was the He113, I could not find anything better on this aircraft than the Polish wikipedia article: In 1938, assistant to the Air Attaché of the American embassy in Berlin, major Arthur W. Vanaman was invited to visit the Heinkel factory, where he accidentally noticed a new, very fast...

German fuel situation and what to improve on it, 2.0

Henlo, I changed my mind on one thing. So originally I said that "if the Germans would have had the oil field they discovered after the war, the world would look very different". And I maintain that this was right. You can go through various "Butterfly effect"-scenarios here. But I did some...

US Military Intelligence report, 1942: He112 with DB601a

Hello, on archive.org I found this: https://archive.org/details/Fm30-35 Title: "War Departement. Basic Field Manual. Military Intelligence. Identification Of German Aircraft. March 11, 1942" So as you see, a He112 "done right". The western allies had their spies and "collaborators"...

German fuel situation and what to improve on it, 2.0

The book also covers the problems of the US and other powers. It also goes in-depth when it comes to who obtained fuel from which sources. I recommend just reading the book. It's very well written. The Admiral, who wrote the foreword, points out that this book has been reprinted because it fits...

The book also refers to that fact. The history of the production of synfuel is also highlighted there. At the end of the day, it's about this: Hitler thought before the war that he would have achieved self-sufficiency by producing synfuel. It quickly turned out that this was a mistake and that...

Just some info on the book Oil&War. Many books contain bad information, so therefore it is legitimate to ask oneself which quality requirements a book fulfills. Just to show you that I haven't posted excerpts from some obscure and unimportant book, or some old book with theses that have been...

I wasn't replying to you. I am not sure if Geoffrey knows that. I haven't read his post, I just skimmed some of it. It took me a long time to post excerpts from a book and I believe that this is what happened. If somebody is interested how much oil Germany got from it's main source in western...

@Geoffrey Sinclair Which part of "the discussion is over" didn't you understand? I am not reading that wall of text. I chose to believe officers of the US military over a dude on the internet. Sorry! Btw, here is Germany's domestic oil production Source: Landesamt für Bergbau, Energie und...

I don't know where this graph is from. But even if it is correct, it is misleading. Ok, the situation before 1944 in quotes from the book "Oil & War" by Robert Goralski and Russel W. Freeburg, Marine Corps University Press, 2021.This is military history for members of the military. I assume...

@Geoffrey Sinclair In 1950 the British were building their nuclear weapons. At that time, the British government probably sent an inquiry about how effective these weapons would be. The document I posted probably is the reply from those people who build it. If you for some odd reason are so...

@DerAdlerIstGelandet I don't care if you are a moderator. I haven't insulted anyone and nobody feels insulted. If you want to ban me because you are on a power-trip, go ahead, I'll be fine. @Geoffrey Sinclair Ok, listen: at this point you are not arguing with me, but with my sources...
