I used to think it would be too hard to make WWII planes for lego's, even harder for lego mini figures. Lego's aren't very smooth, and the best models are often big. Well, I was proven wrong. I should try harder and join the ranks!

Here is a digital design somebody made out of lego bricks of a P-51. It's a program called Lego Factory, where they give you a certain amount of bricks that you can work with. Anyone can download the program from lego.com, and some of the models people make are pretty advanced. Then you can upload your model to Lego.com, where you can even buy it if you want!

It doesn't always give you all the bricks you may need, that's why the cockpit on the P-51 doesn't look quite correct.

One of the only bubble cockpits that looks closest is this one, from the first Naboo Starfighter:

But the designer doesn't have it. But it's still a pretty cool model, and I was wondering what you thought?

Thing I noticed was the nose reminds a little of a Hawker Hurricane, but then it's tough with legos, because they don't have too many smooth shapes. But that's what makes them fun and interesting too. If anybody here is into legos, and would like this model to download the instructions for the model or buy it, it's pretty pricey though, it's $ 47.00 (Lego always overprices) you can go to this webpage. But you have to download Lego Digital Designer to view the instructions.

Edit: I can't get the pictures up will work on it. Here are some other great models to look at for now.

LEGO Shop - LEGO® Factory: Custom Design Your Own Model - Fighter

Now somebody should download this program and make a Fock Wulf 190 for legos!

The F-117 maker cheated, right? That's a kit and not the basics blocks. I loved the Dornier flying boat.
