Les, do you mean the Konrad "Pitt" Bauer's Fw 190A-8 Werk nr. 171641 "red 3"?

Thanks Charles....

Yes sir Wurger, either that one or his Fw 190 A-8/R2(R8?) (W.Nr. 681 469) “Red 21” in which he was shot down in on Sept 11th 1944, after shooting down 3 Mustangs, loosing 2 fingers in the process.......

I have one pic of him and its in the JG300 part1 book, page 296.... The pic is with Red 3, part of .5 Staffel, but only includes the cockpit and Bauer sitting on the sill....

There is a profile of his crate on page 336 of the same book, but shows no victory bars on the rudder.... “Pitt” Bauer flew 416 combat missions and shot down 57 enemy aircraft... He recorded 18 victories over the Eastern front.... Of his 39 victories recorded over the Western front, 32 were four-engine bombers including some Herausschüsse and at least five P-51 fighters....

He was shot down seven times....

That's a pity. Unfortunately I have found nothing.Sorry.It seems that The Eagle Editions offers the markings only. But I will remember about this.If I find something I let you know.

Cool! That bf-109 looks ready to fly.

I like how those bullet holes were a near hit of the pilot.
