What scale ?????

When I was about 10 I got into plastic modeling. At the time most of the kits were 1:72 scale. Seems to me back then (early 70's) there wasn't much available in 1:48 and even less in 1:32. A friend of mine and I started a big collection. I stuck to WWII British and he stuck to the Axis models. I still have most of them too !
Since I have gotten back into it and have been checking out Hobby stores and the net I have noticed the HUGE selection of 1:48 kits especially examples of planes I never would have dreamed of finding when I was a kid.
Tons of detail sub kits as well.
I built most of the Monogram 1:48 stuff when I was younger but never kept any of them. The best one detail wise I think was the P-61 which was a great kit.
Kind of wish I hadn't shot them all up with pellet rifles and firecrackers !
What scale do people prefer and why ?
I kind of enjoy the challenge of 1:72 scale, that and they don't take up much space......except for the Enola Gay I have yet to do....that's a biggie !

1:4 scale as it flies better than 1:6. But only if you can still get it in the car.

But if I had the money 1:1.

1/48 & 1/35 for the size, not too big or too small. Just getting back into the business too. Still buying tools and stuff and occasional kit.

I'm sticking to 1:72 at the moment. Although you don't get much in the way of detail, I simply don't have the room to display anything bigger!

As Negative Creep I'm stiking to 1:72 scale for the same reasons. But because of my sight I'm considering changing scale to 1:48 or higher.
