    Interesting approach, but I would think the color would be a bit off.

    A big problem sometimes with WW1 and WW2 photographs is that you first need to decide what type of film was used and then add in complex factors such as age of the film and how it was stored. It can be quite complex to decide how military equipment was painted. Add to that the possibility that aircraft may have been repainted in the field using paint that was to hand and you get a massive potential for conflict in what colour that equipment should be...
