Algerian Hercules crash in Italy

A c130 cargo crashed today in Piacenza-Italy whlie en-route to Frankfurt
Last pilot radio communication was about 'loss of engine power'
3 crew killed, no casualties among population

Well, it is about 15 miles from my home: I'll fly back next week, maybe it will be possible to have some 1st hand new.

Shame about the crew, but I am glad that no one on the ground was hurt.

Apparently the pilot was able to avoid hitting a farm, some house roof was blown by the explosion but nobody was injured

WOW! I did a MOD on an Algerian C-130 just before 9-11. About 20 guys from my company was supposed to go over there to do the rest of their fleet. 9-11 ended that project....
