The last concert I attended was at the Chicago Arie Crown to see Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. I don't remember the year but I seem to remember the preceding night was an extravaganza celebration for the one year anniversary of the creation of dirt.

Actually I thought they were pretty damn good. I had never really listened to them before, but after the show I decided I was going to get some of their music and check them out. Unfortunately they only played about 5 songs, but what more do you expect when you are the first band to play on a bill that contains Machine Head and Metallica.

Here was the Metallica setlist:

That Was Just Your Life
The End Of The Line
Creeping Death
Wherever I May Roam
One
Broken, Beat And Scarred
Cyanide
Sad But True
No Leaf Clover
The Judas Kiss
The Day That Never Comes
Master Of Puppets
Damage, Inc.
Nothing Else Matters
Enter Sandman
- - - - - - - -
The Wait
Phantom Lord
Seek and Destroy

And some pics that I took:

And here is some video of the concert that I found on Youtube:

Well I went and saw Metallica again last night in Oberhausen, Germany. Got to meet the band, and the opening acts were The Sword and Machine Head. I missed The Sword though because of the meet and greet.

Rather than listing that list again I will just update the one above.

Up next week: AC/DC in Hockenheim!

From best show I saw last year. An adventure being a month out of open heart surgery and not allowed to leave home at the time.
Had 2 medical trained friends escort and help, also in case of problems.
Opening band was a waste.

But the other 3 were awesome as expected:

Motörhead first. Dee's drum solo and hearing "In the Name of Tragedy" made my day.
Campbell was more high energy than normal.
Crowd went rather nuts when Lemmy casual strolled out, me included as friends had to refrain me a bit (fear of colapse). As usual Lemmy asked if it was loud nough.
Have seen them from Fast Eddie days to today, but can't remember ever saying it was lound enough in my reply.
Honestly think current line-up is far better than with Filthy and Eddie.

2nd was Heaven and Hell.

Iommi, Dio, Butler, Appice.

What more needs said ?

Having seen Iommi a dozen times, was the most I've seen him smile throughout a show. Obvious aware of crowd adoring them. Dio is always such a happy guy, loves his job

Last was Judas Priest

I passed on seeing them in the Owens period, but multiple times before and since.

Halford pretty much controlled the crowd with 1 hand, it was great. Took a couple minutes for them to continue when the cycle came out, some things one never gets tired of.
His outfit must have weighed a ton.
Had to go back to get full stage shots, seated to close for my low cost camera
