I wouldn't put Def Leppard in there. I never really appreciated Def Leppard (even though I have two or three of their albums), until I heard them on Howard Stern on day. They sang Pour Some Sugar On Me live a capella. Just blew me away with the talent of these guys. WOW!

Good idea Adler...I'll contribute at some point with some of my favourite stuff. ('Oh God' I hear you say.. ) I daren't say what I think is best because everyone has different ideas about it and I dont have the widest range of knowledge about music, despite the fact its one of my great passions too, couldnt live without it...

Def Leppard are amazing. They have so many great songs and really good talent. The Drummer is truely amazing. Just my opinion though.

That is what this is for. To discuss your likes and dislikes. No on is right or wrong. All of my best of's are just my opinion. As you said everyone else will have there own opinion.

No one is right or wrong, except Lanc - he is wrong. And other people are just crap.

    The Grunge Gods -

    Alice in Chains
    Pearl Jam
    Soundgarden

Rock wouldn't be rock without these bands.

Well I would be embarrassed to provide a monetary figure for the stereo equipment that I have purchased over the last twenty years, if that is any indication of how important music is to me.

For a good listen, any of the Tool albums are exquisitely mastered. A very talented and cerebral group that I think is the Pink Floyd of the current generation. Some of the effects with the recorded dynamics, soundstage and imaging is superlative.

Some modern bands I have recently started liking; Shinedown, Pay the Girl and Hinder. I know Shinedown and Hinder are famous in the U.S - but NO ONE knows of them over here.

I would , without a shadow of a doubt, rank Nirvana below both Soundgarden and Alice in Chains.
