| I've seen that you/we all have talked about the best this and the best that, but I've failed to see anything about songwriters...go figure! Now, who's THE best OR your favorite songwriter in your music genre, who's head and shoulders above the rest in the dogpond, who's the Big Wig, the Big Poobah, the Big Cheese?

| One of the best songs I thought that was ever written was Gordon Lightfoot's "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald." Great songwriting along with Al Stewart's "Roads to Moskow". But as an overall songwriter I've loved Jon Anderson of YES. He really grasps words and makes them flow. "A seasoned witch could call you from the depths of your disgrace and rearrange your liver to the solid mental grace." But for all around songwriting Lennon/McCartney.
