Country: | Their are many fine band's on that list...but most of them are NOT Rock & Roll bands...Example: Black Sabbath is one of my favorite "all time" bands but I wouldn't call them Rock & Roll, I might call them "Hard Rock" or maybe "Heavy Metal" but not Rock & Roll...anyway, for me the best Rock & Roll band on that list is the "Rolling Stones"...
p.s. I was a little surprised that "Motor Head" is not on the list... | |

Rock n Roll ecompases all of those genres my friend.
People like Iron Maiden refer to themselves as rock n roll at times.
If we over genrised ( my new word ) there would never be a clean cut answer.
As for Motorhead I too am suprised that I haven't noticed it was missing.

Hard Rock and Heavy Metal are Sub-Genre's of Rock and Roll.
And Yes Motorhead should be on the list as well. I cant wait to see them again on the same stage as Metallica next summer.

Country: | I'm not a fan at all of heavy metal and such. But, I have to admit there are some tracks that I DO like, AC DC's Thunderstruck and Money Talks(?) to mention but two. And I do respect peoples taste and views in this matter as it gives plenty of interesting conversation and good banter. Did you only listen to the Black Metal and Death Metal.
You should have checked out the other stuff. There is some really good metal out there ranging from Metallica to Lacuna Coil.
