    Soundgarden ! Actually, I don't know...

Its a toss up between Metallica, Soudgarden and Van Halen, so I went with what made me what I am today, Metallica.... Gods for sure, with a resume that transcends most others...

For me it is Metallica! The greatest band in the world and the band that influenced me the most. I have seen them 9 times since 1989 and they are the greatest band in the world.

I went with AC/DC. Again it just edged out metallica but not by much! AC/DC was the band that introduced me to hard rock/heavy metal

    Long Live Bon!

No groaning from me. Zep established my love for rock. But I'm gonna have to think about "world's greatest" and "rock". That's gonna require some more thought.

Beatles - as mentioned in the greatest singer poll - they set the benchmark and their influence is unsurpassed....

Black Sabbath: If it weren't for them, we wouldn't have a clear definitition of hard rock!

Sorry if I seem double-posting, but you're missing The Experience, Jimi Hendrix's original band.

Black Sabbath was the birth of Metal, not Hard Rock...
