Ah yes. Great band.
That's John Mclaughlin on guitar, Rick Laird on bass and Billy Cobham on drums.
All legends in the world of Jazz fusion these days.

Here's a Wikipedia article outlining the band's history - The Mahavishnu Orchestra - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I believe the Miles Davis album referred to in the article is "Bitch's Brew".

Ever heard of a band called "Scatterbrain"?

Hmmm... Not bad. It must be a song from their first album because I never heard it before... And I got their three latest albums...

lesofprimus,

Dreams was an earlier project that featured Mahavishnu drummer Billy Cobham, among others.
Bluesier than Mahavishnu, but technically as "neato" as the rest of the Jazz-Rock bands that came out of the late 60/early 70's.

Check 'em out, if that sounds appealing to you.

I had the first album ("Dreams") and enjoyed it.

Otherwise, the most famous of the Mahavishnu albums were "Birds of Fire" and "The Inner Mounting Flame".

Geez... I've seen weird music videos in my life, but this one beats them all !

YouTube - PANIC AT THE DISCO: Nine In The Afternoon

For some reasons, the brunette chick in the blue dress in the following music video somehow remembered me of a bitch I met in high-school... I was never able to know if her tits were fake, though... Erhm... Sorry, a flash back from my nerdish days.

YouTube - Paramore- Misery Business

And now an old classic...

YouTube - Metallica - Sad But True
