That's John Mclaughlin on guitar, Rick Laird on bass and Billy Cobham on drums.
All legends in the world of Jazz fusion these days.
Here's a Wikipedia article outlining the band's history - The Mahavishnu Orchestra - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I believe the Miles Davis album referred to in the article is "Bitch's Brew".
Ever heard of a band called "Scatterbrain"?

Country: | lesofprimus,
Dreams was an earlier project that featured Mahavishnu drummer Billy Cobham, among others.
Bluesier than Mahavishnu, but technically as "neato" as the rest of the Jazz-Rock bands that came out of the late 60/early 70's.
Check 'em out, if that sounds appealing to you.
I had the first album ("Dreams") and enjoyed it.
Otherwise, the most famous of the Mahavishnu albums were "Birds of Fire" and "The Inner Mounting Flame".
