| Sourcing photos I'm new to posting and to this site so bear with me.
What is the proper way to source a photo that has been handed down from
a family member who may or may not have taken the actual photo but was taken for military intelligence purposes? Additionally, if I am the owner now am I the source even though I didn't take the photo? If I'm the owner are the photos copyright protected under my name?
I have many photos that I would like to post but wont until I know I wont violate the sourcing requirements.
Thanks for your patience.

Country: | Welcome aboard, Taioson. If you own the photo, you do not necessarily own the copyright. In cases with old photos from WWII, they may be in the public domain. If you are unsure of the source, you can say so with the stipulation that if it is copyrighted, either the copyright owner will get credited when discovered, or the photo will be removed if it is in violation.
Basically, feel free to post it. There are several of us here that know of copyrighted works that can let you know if it should be removed. There have not been any problems so far, and we would like to keep it that way.

Country: | legally although you have the pics you did not take them and they are under the other members so list it even if they are deceased.
go ahead and post and we will make comment. I have many pics given to me by deceased veterans, one of a kind from private collections, etc.....I post these on the forums from time to time knowing full well the veteran families do not care.

| Thanks Gentlemen for the photo sourcing info. It'll take me time to figure out how to post the photos and I'll do it one at a time as time permits.

Country: | Its quite straight forward TA ( it must be if I can do it)
Stick in a bit about your pics etc, click on the preview and underneath will appear Add an attachment (although not in this particular thread) click on browse find the picture on your PC click on it then on open to insert the path, then click on preview again to check how it looks then click on submit and its done. |

| OK Moderators, et. al., I've posted a couple of pics and not sure if source statement is in right place so looking for guidance. Also, several pics list BuAer number and info on picture. Would this be considered a "source" or is "the source" understood to be the only the person taking the picture?
Also, if I want to converse with the members of the site do i do that thru the "post reply" button? How do I ask a general question of the moderators.
I'm new to all this so please bear with me and my probably dumb questions. |

Country: | The BuAer number is only the number used to identify the asset. It is not the source of the photo. Source unknown is okay and if someone complains, we an remove the photo or identify the source.
Clicking on post reply or using the quick reply link at the bottom of a thread will allow you to reply to the postings. You can ask a general question of the mods and admins by either sending them a PM (Private Message) or by posting your question in the off-topics thread. Chances are that if an admin or moderator is not around, one of the people that have been here a while will be able to answer as well.
Don't worry about asking questions. We are all here to learn.

I would also suggest that full credit be givien to any article writers AND where they were sourced from.
I found the forum after finding an article I wrote and posted in another forum was also posted on WW2aircraft & another Forum. (Boy was I chuffed )
The assumption that the WWW is free to be copied is not correct, and as mentioned with photo's could lead to trouble.

But as its forbidden to query the claims of anything that eminated from Nazi Germany and its Propagand Machine, Pilots, U Boat Captains and Tankers I suppose I should have expected such a reaction.
Its also cute how some think that simply replacing a letter with an asterix somehow makes it acceptable, must be a Yankee thing. (Plus we all know what Capitals mean, tsk tsk) |

Country: | Cute???
The only thing cute here is the size of ur **** marshmallow boy-toy... I dont give a flying rat fu*k what u think is acceptable or not here in the virtual world, so take ur tissues and ur tears and bring them somewhere else, cause no one give a sh*t about ur quest for self glorification....
"Its my piece of sh*t story, and Im mad that no one posted my name... Boo-Hoo..." If u need more tissues, I can Fed-Ex u a whole case of em, cause it sure sounds like u have alot of tears to shed...
And just to set the record straight, what the fu*k do u know about us Yankees, other than the fact we bang u kangaroo-fu*king faggots in the @ss whenever the desire arises??? Quote: |

| Hey munch-hole, ever hear of something called FACTS??? They are these little things that are actually not made up, or opinionated in any way shape or form.... Remember this word: FACTS... Something that real writers use to form the basis for an article or story... It makes the party slightly more interested when they are used... Read Jagdgeschwader 300 and ull get a clue as to how someone uses facts rather than bullsh*t opinionated crap to make a pont....
Oh, and since ur so concerned about ur notoriety, Ive decided that u deserve something special, so here ya go...
