What about photo's for which I no longer have the source from which I obtained them? I have literally thousands of aircraft photos collected over the years, and normally I don't save the source.
Also, it's my understanding that unless a photo includes a copyright notice on the photo, publishing it to the web makes it public domain. And I think even that is somewhat disputable - even if it's got a copyright notice on it publishing it to the internet (vs. an intranet) may make public domain since it has established a value of $0 for the image, unless it's a tradmarked image.
I try hard to source most things. I will try to source images from now on, but I'm concerned about what to do about those that are already in my collection?
Finally, will making the image clickable to take the viewer to the source site be sufficient? This will avoid extra text which might disrupt the flow of the post. The following example works
Click on the image, it should take you to the front/home page for the WWII Message Board.
The format is:
{url=http://www.whatever.net}{img}http://www.imagesourcesite.com/image.jpg{/img}{/url}
using square brackets instead of curly brackets.
