    Good Book

I've got that book. A good account of USMC combat in the Pacific.

Yep. Agreed, its an excellent book. Bit weird at one point, where he's describing his mental state during a battle, but other than that, its a brutally honest account of his experiences.

Picked that book up, along with Helmut for my Pillow, and Hero of the Pacific a couple months ago. Plan on reading them all before I watch the Speilberg/Hanks Miniseries The Pacific when it is released on DVD.

A 2006 study found that the average American walks about 900 miles a year. Another study found that Americans drink an average of 22 gallons of beer a year. That means, on average, Americans get about 41 miles per gallon.

Picked up with the old breed too. Haven't really gotten into it yet, but I'm planning on doing it this semester. I just finished Helmet for My Pillow, though. That was good. I was a little confused in some parts about Leckie's time on New Gloucester, but other than that I couldn't put the book down. Great read, and very descriptive.
