ANZAC Day 2007

Gents today (25th April) we here in Australia and New Zealand celebrate ANZAC Day. It was on this day in 1915 that our soldiers hit the beach at ANZAC Cove in Gallipoli. Today, in Australia, ANZAC Day is the when we remember the 102 000 odd men and women who have fallen in battle whilst serving their country. It is also a day to pay tribute to the many thousands who have served in all the conflicts this country has been involved (from the Boer War to present) and have returned. I ask you guys to give a thought to the 102 000 odd Australians who have fallen in battle, usually side by side with many of your country men.
May they never be forgetten!

hopefully a Kiwi will post a tribute to the barve men from New Zealand who often get overlooked.

(And I'd like to salute the oft forgotten Indian troops who fought and fell at Gallipoli side by side with the ANZACS)

Sorry for being late with the Kiwi tribute.

It was a long slow recovery from the RSA session after the dawn parade.

At the going down of the sun
and in the mornings
we shall remember them.
