I live in Cheshire - but a long way to the east from Liverpool, which is in Lancashire!

Part of the pennisula know as 'The Wirral' is still part of the relatively large County of Cheshire, and part is now known as 'Merseyside'. The 'real' Cheshire is further east though, with borders on the southern outskirts of Manchester, and bordered by Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire to the east and south. But then, do I care? I'm a 'Geordie' !!
