I'm 23, so I speak for my generation, but most guys I know were either cheated on by their girlfriend, or cheated on their girlfriend at least once.
No later than last week, a work buddy told me that his girlfriend had sex with his own cousin.
I can see by your last sentence that you haven't lost your childhood naivety. Which can be a good thing in some occasions. But no one can be faithful to the same person for ever. Everyone cheats or gets cheated on at least once in their life. | |

My first marriage lasted 5 years and she had cheated on me with some guy at work. I threw a party and got her drunk and she (stupid ninny) admitted it in front of two of my friends....No problems from that one. The next one was a gorgeous blond that happened to be a virgin no less.(gotta love those Catholic girls.) All went well, 2 kids in 5 years and she never went over a size 5. Unfortunately I had cheated on her all the way through. I must have been nuts but at that time in my life I was 27 year old vet going to college and there were so many targets of opportunity!!!
After that divorce, I vowed "Never Again". Then I met this beautiful dark haired girl with an 11 year old boy. I knew I was dead meat the first time I laid eyes on her. She made me feel like a kid again. We have been together since 1978 and married since 1980 and I have not even thought of cheating in all those years(Thats 30). I also trusted her the same way all these years. Yup....Life can be good, but you have to learn from your mistakes!

LIFE is a series of lessons and choices, I don't accept that "everyone gets cheated on or cheats". I'd have to call Bull*hit on that.

Country: | So do I Lucky.... My piece of sh!t ex cheated on my ass 3 times that I know of, and 2 were long term... It makes a man jaded when that happens to them...
I myself thought about getting back at her and doin the same, but my scruples stayed strong... Im better than she is/was/will ever will be because of my convictions...
And those convictions paid off, cause Ive found the love of my life and feel confident that that kind of crap will never happen to me ever again.... LOVE is not a four letter word, but a staunch conviction that goes back to a mans childhood upbringing....
I, for one, thank my parents for being a loving couple who showed affection to each other throughout their lives together, remaining faithful to the end after Mom went the way of cancer....
All that being said, I know more guys who have cheated on their significant others than not, and I get dis gusted when someone talks about their infildelities like they are cool or normal...
Fu*k that, love the one ur with....

Country: | I agree with you Les. I never cheated on anyone and when she did to me after together for 15 and mariied for ten of them, it jaded me. My current girlfriend, I call pre-wife cause I just can't around to doing it again. She is the best to happen to me except my kids but I already stuck my hand in the fire once. I just don't understand cheating. If it comes to that you gotta cut your losses and move on.

that's the kind of thinking that leads to the infidelity, and problems with relationships, I like everyone else have been tempted but have never cheated and never will

Country: | Ya know, its a matter of commitment. IF you can't, then don't..find something that fits your needs, BE HONEST. The world being what it is, today..you have other venues...if you feel that a monogamous relationship is unrealistic, find someone that shares your beliefs, if you are Poly, go with that..BUT to say that its just something that happens and you just have to accept it, is a defeatist attitude. Believe in yourself enough that you don't settle for less..
I know I have mentioned it before, but, after bartending forfrigginever, I have had to witness ALOT of this bullshit first hand..dont, didn't, won't condone it. NOR brush it off haphazardly.
