Cold War Flicks

I find movies with Cold War subject matter made during the 50’s and 60’s are unique in their ability to evoke tension. It seems that the stress of the times permeate not only the scripts but the photography and actors delivery as well.

Here are some suggested movies with cold war themes made when nuclear brinkmanship was at it’s zenith.

Fail Safe (1964)
On the Beach (1959)
The Manchurian Candidate (1962)
Dr. Strangelove (1964)
The Bedford Incident (1965)
Seven Days in May (1964)

Please give me more! What gems am I missing?

Straregic Air Command had some great film of the planes..

Also "The Absent Minded Professor" had some very cool footage of F-102's!
