F.B.I. Investigating.....

Reports on the local Tidewater TV stations and Good Morning America about
emails and pamphlets being circulated that "due to the tremendous turnout
expected on November 4th [Election Day], elections officials have decided
that all Republicans will vote on November 4Th and Democrats will vote on
November 5th".

Edit: This is a local [Virginia] thing.... see flyer.

The F.B.I. is suppose to be 'investigating' this obvious scam.

Has enyone heard anything like their in their neck of the woods ???

That one came out in the last election too. It was a joke then. If the hamheads in the FBI can't figure this one out as a joke, then it's time for a revamp of the FBI.

First I've heard of it, too....but, I have to say that, given the decisions currently being made in D.C., this has to be one of the better one's they've rolled out!

Along these same lines, the Virginia Board of Elections has reminded all
cities that there is a Board of Elections rule that you cannot wear any
clothing, buttons, caps, hats, T-shirts, etc promoting a canditate, or
to discourage anyone from voting for a candidate, within 40 feet of the
polls. This has been a big stink in the local papers for a week. The folks
who take care of the elections in Virginia Beach say they will NOT enforce
the ruling.

A quick primer:

It used to be Republicans were conservatives and believed in the following:
Make Abortion Illegal
No gun control
strong military
Business friendly
Pro Death Penelty
Strong base of middle-upper income Christian Followers

It used to be Democrats were liberals and believed in the following:

legal abortions
gun control
strong military is not necessary
lots of expensive "warm fuzzy" social programs
Anti Death Penalty
Strong base of lower - middle income "working man" Followers

IMO
The lines have blurred in the past decades. Now, they're just two political parties whose members will say whatever they have to to form the right alliances and gain power. In today's arena, if Dems and Reps disagree it's not as much about values and ideology, its about trying to capture the votes that your opponent is shunning.

If there are more questions the matter deserves it's own thread.. people will have strong opinions.
