| Senior Member | Thanks all. I've just found a little time inbetween studying to get back on here. Good to see most are still here... and Trackend...you'd been long missed the last time I managed to get on here, so it's good to see you back! Airframes... I'm at Manchester Airport... the college I have to attend is Deeside (Connah's Quay) which is a certified Aero training facility... and there is BAe at...Warton, near Blackpool...all within 50 miles or so. Deeside is 44 miles away.... It is similar to the A & P license, Matt. The European system is basically - A license (Mechanically bias) Mechanic - so engines and airframes, cannot sign aircraft to fly. Split down into A1, A2, A3, A4 (1. Airplane/Turbine, 2. Airplane/Piston, 3. Helicopter/Turbine, 4. Helicopter/Piston) B1 License (Mechanical and Electrical) which is engines 'n aiframes , and you can sign an aircraft to service in line maintenance and zonal signature in base. Split once again to the same subs as A B2 license (Avionic and Electrical) which is...what it says; avionics. Basically same thing as B1..you can sign aircraft to service, but you specialise in a different area. C license (Maintenance Manager) signs return to service cert. in base maintenance. Don't pretend you didn't fu*kin' miss me, Dan.

| Hi, Plan D. I'm twelve miles away from you, in Macclesfield! As you know, our college has an aeronautical engneering dept., and BAe Woodford is just down the road. If you fancy a beer, give me a shout! Terry. |

| Senior Member | I'm closer than 12 miles; I live in Macclesfield - in Hurdsfield! I only moved here when I got the job at Thomas Cook; I lived in Doncaster until 5th September. I work with someone who got their National Diploma at Macc college - I was just thinking of EASA Part 147 (Training Organisations) college. I don't believe Macc has it yet. I honestly didn't know about BAe Woodford. We'll have to get a beer some time when I got time.
