Mine too. I'm a child of the "Big Hair Era" and she was #1.

If you take away all the extra cr@p about MJ and just leave his music, he was a great artist. His "Off The Wall" and "Thriller" albums are classics. Its a shame he couldn'tlive a less scandelous life but, like he said he never had a childhood.

besides there can only be ONE Wacko Jaco - ME!!!

Hmmm... The early death of the King of Pop reminds me of the fate of that other 'King' - Elvis.

Seems like being American AND a monarch just doesn't work. At least for long...

I'm gonna echo Soren here. Thriller was truly a revolutionary album.

As to the extracurricular activities, while mortified, I'm not surprised. With that kind of family history nothing would surprise me.

The untimely death of anybody is to be regreted but now we will have weeks of wailing and gnashing of teeth and his life examined in minute detail via TV documantaries and the news media, not to mention the inevitable dozens of biographies. While quietly in the background another batch of allied dead will be returned home. He was good but all he did was entertain, the world is a funny old place when a pop star is given so much more importance and dare I say, respect in the eyes of a large portion of the public than a squaddie laying his neck on the line so they could have the freedom to be entertained by him doing the bleeding moon walk or squeeking out a song . I like his music and have a couple of his albums but the pedestal he is being put on is way to high IMO.

Well said Lee, Eric and Soren. I agree with all your sentiments. Whilst I was not really a fan it is sad to see him pass, he was a freak but a great entertainer nonetheless.

Agree folks. And despite his legal situations, his obsession with children was a bit over the top and I believe it placed him in a position where he was setting himself up for allegations that followed him around, be them the truth or not. Additionally after the first allegations you would have thought he would have learned.

I am saddened and I look as his situation with similarities as with the deaths of Howard Hughes and Elvis Presley.

Well said Track, no doubt the TV will be flooded with MJ. I'm sad to see him go, and enjoyed a few of his songs.

@Amsel (heard that one years ago, with K-Mart blue-light specials)

I agree for the most part with Trackend. The media circus is going to be insane....and both Ed McMahon and Farrah Fawcett will take a very cold back-burner to the whole MJ drama-mentaries and crap. I never really did care much for his music, though....just wasnt really my style. I do, however, think the human race is now a tad bit safer, since he's gone.

Looks like Jackson took a pretty good dose of Demerol right before his death. Nothing new--but it might have been an overdose--intentional or not.

Here's my dad's reaction to the news of Michael Jackson's death: What happened, did he accidently look himself in the mirror ?

Needless to say I almost fell off the chair laughing eventhough it's kinda mean.

RIP Michael & Farrah!

Mikey was just one of a bunch of F***ed up kids. His Father was a tyrant and abuser, his mother did nada

makes you wonder why the guy tried to look more and more like a white man blowing off his proud race. note if you saw his interview back in march of this year he was lily white his chin more than doubled and his nose almost melted into his face with plastic surgeons having a hey day.

personally his music sucked he was on the throne for many teenie weenies for many years but will hand it too him though the man in his time was most likely one of the richest on this earth if that means anything in the whole scheme of things.

he will soon be forgotten, and remember he was just another human, selfish and proud. this will go on for the next 2-3 weeks talk of nothing other than ...........

I think at one time he also owned the rights to many if not most of the Beatles song catalog.
