Country: | New Camera: Rebel XTi + 2 lenses Just got my new camera today. A Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi/400D with the 18-55mm kit lens and the 55-250 IS telephoto lens. I know Eric was wanted me to get a Nikon but if I was going to do that I would of gone with the D80 (which was out of my budget). Still very pleased with what I got and should be great fun using it in Southern Africa in a couple of weeks time. Canon UK - EOS 400D Canon UK - EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS
Haven't taken any pics of the camera itself yet but here are some sample shots of what was in the kitchen at the tine...

Country: | Your friend looks hungry ! I have a Nikon N51 (film) and a Nikon D70.
The lenses that came with the N51 fit the D70, which is why I went
for the D70. Wish I had waited a year, would have gotten the D80 in
spite of it's $1,200.00 price tag. I hope you're as happy with your
Canon as I am with my Nikon....

Country: | It will serve you well. The Nikon versus Canon debate is like Ford versus Chevy, Toyota versus Nissan, etc. They are both great and you'll enjoy it.

| Very nice, now find an airshow and give the other snappers a run for their money.
Enjoy it |

Country: | Nice. I remember doing that when my Nikon arrived. I couldn't wait to get to the airport with it, but shot a bunch of stuff in the yard in thew mean time. You've got a good eye, Gnomey.

Country: | Cheers, I will probably take a couple of shots at Heathrow but other than that the first air show will likely be Leuchars in September (by which point I should know how to use the camera pretty well).
