Yep, sounds like it was a game that they were never really in (with their only real chances coming in second half stopage time). Zidane pretty much controlled it all. I believe it will be a Germany France final (what a game that will be).

Okay here are the pics that my friend took when we went to watch the Germany and Argentina game. There are some of just random fans, some of my friends, some of myself and my wife. He actually took 130 pictures so I only posted some of them.
I think the pictures are really good. He captures the faces very well. He has a really good camara and is sort of a hobby photographer.

I think Germany will score more against Italy, to be honest. The Italian defence has been strong so far, but they haven't faced the tough teams. And I think France will beat Portugal, but we shall see.

Would you agree 32 teams in the world cup are just too many teams?
As i said, i am not much into watching football on tv, but i was just told that as late as in the 1980s the number of national teams admitted into the world cup was 16 (sixsteen)!, then that during the 1990s the number went up to 24, reaching 32 today...twice the original number.
I was told that at least some 12 national teams who attended the 2006 world cup were just "tourists". (USA, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Costa Rica, Serbia, Trinidad & Tobago to name a few).
And by the way, group "A", where Germany got positioned was a joke: Costa Rica, Poland and Ecuador; a freshly baked donut and glass of milk for the host team.
No 32 teams is actually really good. It brings out real excitement and keeps it going.
In the 1980s there were more than 16 teams. In 1982 they used 24 teams for the first time and then in 1998 they bumped it up to 32. I think it is the best with 32, it works out great that way and really gets the competition going.
Well the 12 teams that you are calling tourists cant be tourists. They qualified for the World Cup in the qualification rounds, which means they defeated eneogh teams to get to Germany. They earned there right to be there.
As for the group A that they were "placed" in is becaus that is how they were drawn. They are placed into groups based off a lottery draw. The countries are drawn out of a machine that looks like a lottery machine. I watched it live on TV. Pretty interesting. The host of the nation is allways the first team placed into "Group A" and the rest are drawn from the clear plastic ball.

Just a question though, did you or Sarah leave a jacket in Germany, when you came over? I have a jacket in the back of my Jeep and I dont know who belongs to.

I noticed I'd left it when I wanted some food back in Manchester, and realised I had no change 'cos it was in my coat ! It was so easy to do because I was relaxed, and didn't feel like I was on holiday - just like I was with a load of friends.

Damn it took me a while to figure out where you guys where getting these figures.
It was 1-1 at the end of regulation and over time. In the penelty kicks it went 4-2 because Germany got 4 in and Argentina got 2 in. If you look at the official FIFA score they score it like this 1:1 ETO 4:2 PSO. That means they score it 5:3 but some places score it as 4:2 because the game was not decided in regulation time.

Well I have not missed a game yet. I have been to one of the viewing points for every Germany game. I have been in the streets partying for every Germany game afterwards and I have been given a pass to go to Berlin for the Finals.
