Just heard on the news that the Cutty Sark (the London based tea clipper) Is on fire she was a great ship this is terrible news

Fortunately a lot of the irreplaceable gear had been moved to storage ready for restoration and according to a curator the ships timbers had stood up well to the flames. The decks have gone and its not certain how much distortion of the iron frames has occurred so things are looking a bit brighter than first thought.
