interest Mic
My home town (Brentwood) used to have a factory (Ilford Selo), producing and processing film for these cameras. during the war it got bombed several times in an attempt to stop the flow of re-con film etc quite a few civilians in and around the area were killed.
After the war our local ex WD shop (English's) was selling aircraft cameras. In the sixties my old man bought one for £20, the Ross optics must have cost thousands to produce but for anything other than airial shooting it was useless so he stripped it to bits and made a rich field telescope. All the drive, shutter & film transporter ended up in the bin.
Bet it would be worth a bit more than 20 quid now.

Very cool trackend, do you still have the field telescope, its a very unique and clever way to reuse surpluse military goods after WWII.
