Wellington name plate???

Whilst researching into a crash site of a Wellington Bomber ,a plate (20 ml by 45 ml) has come to light that contains the letters B SIGHT and directly under it is the part word ESSOP
in this orientation if you get my drift , all this is on a black background . Has anyone any brainy ideas as to what possibly the plate may have said in its entireity? I have researched the name Jessop as that is logically what the bottom word may allude to but to no avail. So I thought I,d take an easier route ,if possible . many thanks for any suggestions
