I assume the outside wood is balsa, what do you use on the frame work?

The ribs and all fuselage bulkheads are balsa laminated. I epoxied three 4"x48" by whatever thickness sheets together. The middle would be cross grain. The fuse would use three 1/8" laminates while the ribs would use three 3/32". The entire sheeted airframe will then be fiberglassed.

Fill the gap with the sawdust then lay it up with CA glue and you've got a great gap filler.

On with the balsa filler. This stuff is dirt cheap and you can get it at any good hardware store. I use a lot of it!
