Pre-war USN paint question

Does anyone know if this plane had chevrons on the top wing ? It seems odd it wouldn't but the fuselage is certaainly non-standard.

It would seem odd not to have the tops chevron. Here is one an SBC-4 that had one.

They did, here is a pic of SBC-4 from the USS Enterprise. Not the best picture but you can make it out in ther center of the wing.
