I would have to scan a picture of a map to show you exactly where it is however today it is where the old part of the town meets the new part of the town. ON the side where you are looking at the tower, there are several long strips with shopping stores. You can see part of them on the right hand side of the pictures. On the other side goes to the old wall and the old part of town. In fact if you take a left from here and walk about 300 meters you get to the Red Light District that we call "The Wall"

The 1st three are the Alps taken when flying in my Blackhawk, the next 5 are of Rothenburg O.D.T again and the last pics are of Colmberg Castle which at one point belonged to the Japanese Ambasador. It is now a Hotel and very wonderful to stay at. Me and my wife stayed there for our wedding anniversary. We stayed in the "Queens Suite" which had this wonderful mideaval bed and the bathroom had a jacuzzi in it. The restaurant at the Castle is excellent. They have there own wild game reserve so you can get excellent freshly killed deer and boar.
