that way with my 300mm lens and see what I can capture. The big
problem at Va. Beach is the boom-boxes and the rowdies... and of course,
those who are intoxicated. The cops will let just about anything go. Last
year they arrested a woman in a thong, and the judge threw the case and
the cops out of court.

Country: | curious in ol Mississip and VA are any of the beaches privately owned like in southern Cali ? In Oregon that is taboo though some have tried to fence and rope down lanes right to the ocean, pretty honking funny as the coast guard rips these obnoxious things down time and again

Country: | I miss living in Virginia Beach Charles.... Except for tourist season, its great... The surfing in the wintertime is pretty good as well, North and South of the Jetty...
No privately owned beaches here Erich.... I'd like to see someone try tho...

We like living here...... been here since 1967, and in the same house. There
are sections of the beach, on the north end, that the residents try to make
private, even making their own city "look alike" signs for "no parking", and
"private beach". The cops take them down, but they re-appear.
The down side is the real estate taxes. I paid $15,700. for my house (3 BR,
den, attached garage) in 1967. Last year it was assessed at $180K. My
last years taxes were $1,400.00 per year. Just got re-assessed at $230K
and taxes at $2,100.00 per year...... payable every six months. I wonder
if the city assessor will buy my house for $230K ??
The climate is great for my JM's, tho....
