Great pics Maria. Yes, it's a Jag MkII, as in 'Inspector Morse' TV series. The last one is a Daimler, circa 1960 (I think, maybe a year or two each way).

The fact that there isn't that many american cars over here, is primarily due to the fact that it's pretty expensive to do your own import thing here...and even then, you'll have to pay to get the car registered and insured.
And depending on which model it is, you'll have to pay everything from 50 to 60 % of the original price to figure out the car tax/registration, plus the price also depends on the total weight of the car and the overall condition of the vehicle. Then you've got to pay for the license plates - that's 1180 DKK (regular price), or 6200 DKK for a set of custom license plates with a text of your own choice.
Then there's the car insurance - okay, veteran cars are a whole lot cheaper to insure than a new car, and the insurance price also depends on how many years you've been insured before (driving experience), how old you are, and where you live.
If you're a young man with a wish for a ordinary new car, your insurance can cost you from 10-12 grand to 24000 DKK a year. (Yup, that's twenty-four thousand DKK) So there's both pros and cons about living in a basically socialist country - the good thing is that taxes like that help us pay for our hospital/school/general care/roads and social security, the downside is that many low-income families can't afford a car at all.

    Thanks GG.
I talked with the owner, he told me that he had built a garage just for that car, complete with heated floor, tool stuff and all.
I don't blame him for taking good care of this beauty.
Normally I'm not crazy about american cars - not my style - but this one's a total beauty.

Thanks Jan, I totally agree with you on the car designs.

Thanks Air, both for the praise and the info.
I like the Daimler, it looks pretty cool, I think.

Great shots Maria. Who ever painted the Jaguar did an EXCEPTIONAL job. Looking at the reflection down the side of the car it looks like a black mirror. Thank you for sharing.

    Hi again guys.

As mentioned in the "What Cheered you up today?"-thread, I went on yet another motorcycle ride with biker buddy Jĝrn.
This time we went to Frederikssund and Kulhuse in northern Zealand, we had lunch at Frederikssund and our afternoon coffee at the harbour in Kulhuse.
In Kulhuse, one of the local people came over to chat a bit, and he asked us if we had seen the seal that was resting in the sun on a big rock just off the beach?
Well no, and so I went seal hunting with the camera.
I also got some rather nice shots from our trip today.

    The bridge at Frederikssund.

One of the kind of photos that you do NOT want to look at during the winter, when you can't go riding because of the snow.

    ....

    Helmet stuffed with gloves.

Aforementioned seal basking in the sun.

    ...

One of the locals told us that the seal had been spotted the day before as well.

"What IS she doing?" (Also called "darned shutter sound!")

"Golly, it's a greenlander! I'd better watch out! Where's her rifle???"

"Well NOW it's too much! G'bye!"

    Splash!

...and a pic more from the trip.

Alright, alright, here's the last one then.

BTW the Jag is a Mk2 saloon, star of many a 1960s cops and robbers chase.

Seals are lazy when they arnt goofing around in Denmark they paddle across to england and do exactly the same there, its a huge market for weightwatchers.

Great 'on the move' shots Maria, nice to see clear roads ahead, a bit of a rarity these days.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

either ZA or ZB but yes - it's a Magnette - 'badge-engineered' as Wolseley 4/44; different grill, dashboard, etc., etc
kinda like that model Jag which also came - with a V8 and ripples on the top edge of the grill and rear chrome - as a Daimler,...
