Country: | Bilder aus Wien Yesterday I went onna 1 day trip to Vienna, Austria. I wouldn't do this on my own but my girfriend desperately wanted to see the worldwide exhibition of painter Francesco de Goya. So we bought a cheap student bus ticket, sat onna bus at 3:00 in the night and at 8:00 mornin' we got out on Wien-Pratestern... |

Country: | We made a small walkout from Schwedenplatz (the Tram pix above are from there) uptown to Stadtpark area. There you can see amazingly nice buildings, such as Burgtheater, Parlaiment, Museums, former or still administrative objects... All in the baroque imperial style. |

Country: | Nice pics there, looks like you guys had fun, even though it was short.
That pic of the stone eagle that you were saying could be a possible avatar for me. If I recal reading on that somewhere, it used to have a swatzika under the talons.

Weather was very good, totally clear and blue skies but extremely chilly. So much that my legs are burnt, 'cause I wore only jeans...
No, we didn't go to Stephansdome.
And we didn't see any Shopping Mall in the U-Bahn. Actually, that was the biggest problem and a bit annoyed us, 'cause in Czecho everything is normally open on sunday. Here nothin'. Except McShitland...
And Adler, I bet it was it, cause it looks like complete Nazi Realismus style! |

Country: | I need to go to Wien again! I used to have a friend that lived there when I was in highschool because his dad worked at the embassy. Me and my other friends would take a train there once a month and hang out there. Great city.

Country: | man, memeories of a good kind Pisis thanks for the fotos..........my wife when we go back loved Wien so much as almost our second home. stayed in a wonderful multi-story hotel..........Johannes Brahms I think it was and we walked severl miles north aiming for St, Stephans and the old Stadt municpal buildings. went underground as the Mrs did not want to cross the huge crossed over square and kep looking for Cafe' Demmel and Cafe' Sacher but found neither one. The walking square was a blast at night with some very talented local muscians setting up camp and playing flue, guitar and violin. It was neat becasue the Wien Opera Haus had just cleared out and some very "elegant" of Wien's finer lifestyle were intermingling with Wien lower class.
I'd go back in a drop of a hat |

Country: | From there we wanted to go into some Store or a Supermarket, as mentioned above, but no chance, inna Catholic country you won't buy anything on Sunday. So we just lurked around for a while and then finally ended inna McDonald (aka McBullshit) where it was sick, but it was the only place where was warm.... It was much dirtier then they are here in Czecho, much more "underclass" people... One guy sitting opposite to us even was cutting his feet nails.... |
