Well, since everyone else seems to be posting amazingly awesome pics from various airshows, I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon and join in. Except I haven't been to an airshow in several years (one of the drawbacks to a retail schedule...I always seem to be working when the cool stuff is happening!). But here's a couple of pics from several months back, my wife and I went (she *agreed* to go with me, anyway) to a small air museum at Meecham Field in northern Fort Worth. They have a B-17 there, as well as a dozen or so other planes/copters. The B-17, Chuckie, was my reason for going. Well, we pulled up alongside the hangar, looking for a parking spot....I didn't find one up close to the hangar, so I went to back up to a spot farther back....and in turning my head to look behind me, I noticed a tire next to us on the other side of the fence. Attached to a landing strut. Beneath a rather large, shiny silver wing. (Let me mention here that I'm not the most observant critter on earth) Yup...they had Chuckie out of the hangar, and were about to take her (him?) up for a test flight. Unfortunately, they developed a fuel problem in the #3 engine, and so only taxied down the runway and back, but still....

I thought about running to my car to grab my polarizer...but didn't want to miss anything! Still, a washed-out sky isn't my biggest concern. *g* Even three of those monster engines fired up was amazing!!!!!!! I was literally about fifteen feet behind this when they turned to taxi out onto the runway (tailgunner position shot). Talk about a breeze!!!!!!

Great pics rabid, next time take the vid cam for us
I have no idea where our vid cam is....wife does have a little Canon SD750 point-n-shoot that has vid capability, but I'm not allowed to run vids. *g* My hands aren't steady enough. Although, that does bring up the thought of visiting...again...
