Crusin the Coast

Now I am no picture Taker here guys or am I ?I am just below average I would say but I brought up something in Brook's thread about our annual week long car show we have had since 1996.This year we have over 3300 cars pre-registered and all the hotel rooms are booked I think that's 10-15,000 rooms? So today was the first day of the event and cars from all over the country come here to cruise some 26 miles of hwy and burnouts are ALLOWED in alot of cases just no drag racing.Hell there are people at night line up on Hwy 90 in lawn chairs like Mardi Gras watching these hot rods and some with a gallons of bleach handy.I am carrying my camera with me in the truck at all times and try to catch the flavor of the event for ya.Today was a kickoff of I would say of about 500-700 cars and I was told that this was a low turn out?I took 61 pics total today and some you might go whats that for and I will try tio explain.

Now you won't believe this but this is a chevrolet TWO-CYL engine and it runs people. The guy cut off the front cyls and is using a V-8 I think distributor with two plugs wires and a coil wire. The body is a home built frame with wood sides and he did because someone told him it couldn't be done. And I have been scratching my head all day why I took a pick of a Vette

Vette, what Vette, I don't see a Vette. Ohh, yeah I think there is a Vette in the last shot. Cool shots and that guy did a helluva job getting that 2 cylinder to work. Wow. Most excellent sir. Keep us posted.

Well This will be the last post of todays events.I am tring to show you two things the size of the grounds and atmosphere along the Beach Front. There are RV's parked in vacant lots donated by Katrina all up and down 90 now and the RV'ers are using them to set up camp, that Mardi Gras atmospere. The house on the corner just shows a base camp of sorts that some regulars gather every year this huy welcomes the Crusier's to come join.I will try to get some more pics tomorrow I think the weather is suppose to clear out.Cheers Kevin

Hey, you duplicated the yellow Mopar in two posts! Do that with the chick in blue next time!

Speaking of which, you can tell that she's either a newbie to show-n-shines (heels) or they're just taking a quick look...

Looks like it was a great time with a good turnout and brings back memories of the cruisn' we did down in SoCal...except we used bleach to sticky up the tires for racing....for wicked smoke-ums, we'd use old tranny fluid

Thanks for sharin' the photos!

Just wait till Friday/Saturday night GrauGeist when the engines roar the best,I will get some Friday Night Light Ups for ya Oh fixed the the double pic got the GM next door in.Kevin

I sponsored a car show last W/E and it got rained out had some good prizes available for it to but I did see some of my customers and there cars out there. One old guy (75yrs) I been friends with for years and worked through a couple of builds with, one a 500CID caddy engine in a Willis Jeep got pulled over last night in his Son's 440GTX that is built. He launched the car right in front of a cop.The cop pulled him over and just looked at him with folded arms and told him "put that thing on a trailer and take it to the track" "it does not belong on the street".That car I heard was suppose to be present today but with yesterdays events Richard was not bring it out.

Nice! I remember many years ago visiting a car show at the Biloxi coliseum. There are some neat old cars at the show. I love the 50s and 60s hot rods, but the old Model As are cool.
